The provocative self assessment which might help me improve myself

I always think about the dialogue from the famous Bollywood movie Go Goa Gone when Virdas says “ What do we know and What have we learnt” to which Kunal Khemu replies “ We don’t know anything and we learned Gh$%^a”. The dialogue is so apt in my current situation that I feel as if it was written just to mock me.

2020, the year itself has just too many emotions flowing through my mind that cannot be put in a small article. If it is made into a series, my life in 2020 will have more than 365 episodes. From being lazy like a log to filthy like a fly I have learnt lessons of my life which have impacted me to become a slightly better version of myself. I would like to keep things short by describing only about the major interesting events

What i planned to learn — the saga of never ending storyyyyy

  • First thing in my mind was enhancing my technical knowledge which will upgrade my career. After lot of researching and taking opinions from friends, family, colleagues and even a random people on social media i decided on the buzz word “Data Science”. So i, a science graduate who never got exposed to computer coding in life was planning to get a master’s degree in Data Science which is almost equal to getting a right swipe on Tinder. The probability of which is much lesser than a zero.
  • Looking at the fad in social media, i pushed myself to do more pushups and transform my body. After getting inspired by all the videos of body transformation in youtube, i decided to hit the gym and flaunt my six pack later. This time the spree lasted for a week after which the six pack dream vanished inside a family pack tummy.
  • I tried many things through out the year which were either half complete of did not even start taking action. Few examples are — Poetry, Kick-boxing, Tarot Card reading etc. All the things which were like passing clouds, never really stuck the cord of my heart.

What i actually learned — the unavoidable truths of life

  • All the money i saved on travel food while working from home has accumulated to a handsome amount which has helped me to start my first investment plan.
  • Maggie can be experimented a thousand ways with various ingredients and not just with the masala they provide
  • Parents become children when they grow old, so basically i had to take care of more kids at home in addition to my son. I am now prepared.
  • Doctors and healthcare providers ( Nurse, caregivers and hospital staff) are the real angels sent by god. I have learnt to respect every human being who has fought in this covid battle.
  • You don’t really need a plenty of friends to party , an evening with a pint of beer and favorite movie is a bliss.
  • A cup of coffee with your spouse might not solve things but will give you enough peace of mind to fight any problem.

Despite the things people actually learn while living the life everyday, they look for external factors which deals with virtual acceptance of strangers. The content life is a path to wisdom and extending knowledge.

It is 2021 and i still have to tame the Python (i meant learn the Python language for Data Science ). Wish me luck !!

Cheers
